Since some new readers have started following this blog to keep track of what’s happening with our Evolved Publishing venture, I thought it appropriate to provide just a little more detail.
First, my partner D.T. Conklin and I are working to bring the website up by the end of the week. We’re comfortable as tech amateurs, but we’re not programming professionals, so we’ve encountered a glitch or two. Nonetheless, we progress, and we’ll have a basic, beginning site by Friday. Right, Dan?
By the way, our website will be, at least in the early stages, a simple “hub” of sorts, designed primarily for team members and those interested in joining us. When appropriate, we’ll direct readers and book buyers to our products via the various authors’ personal sites. Authors will need to have their own, well-thought out website to maximize their success. Of course, we’ll also provide links to the various online book retailers’ sites for purchase of our books.
While the website will be up quickly, we don’t anticipate a full “launch” of Evolved Publishing until September (as it stands now), when we release our first books and kick off our marketing efforts to drive sales momentum. However, we wanted to open the website and drive some buzz about it, because we’re hoping to attract a few new team members to participate in that launch.
Once the site is up, you’ll be able to read about our venture’s basic philosophy, and meet some of our initial members. If it sparks your interest, you’ll find an “Apply” page, which will offer specific guidelines, and from which you can contact us.
We understand that achieving a high level of success in the eBook markets, where all that “white noise” is cluttering-up the works, will be a challenge. That’s the whole point of Evolved Publishing: to help one another rise above that noise.
